Regarding Securities and Exchange Commission "ORDER" to Feline Fanciers of the Philippines (FFPI)

August 17, 2004

TO THE OFFICERS OF THE FELINE FANCIERS OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC.:

We demand for an explanation of why we were banned without warning from the Feline Fanciers of the Philippines Yahoo! Group.

As far as we can recall, what we did was to speak our minds, which were in fact, questions that other members wanted us to ask on their behalf.  The most serious question, as far as we can recall is the matter about the elections being delayed for so long.  Other members requested us to relay to you why there hasn’t been any elections yet, when elections were supposed to be held every January.

To be accurate as to what we asked to be explained, for purposes of transparency, I have attached the relevant letter(s) for your kind perusal and action:

First Posting

Dear officers,

There are members asking me when the elections will push through, as members older than I are saying that it should have been done last January. I will appreciate it if we can issue a statement as to why the elections has been delayed to prevent further misinterpretations on this issue.

As for me, I would like to be educated on how the election is conducted. Do candidates file their Certificates of Candidacies, and campaign so that the members will know what his platforms and/or plans of action are for the promotion of the cat fancy in general and FFPI in particular, or are they nominated?

If they are nominated, what is the basis of their nomination? Is it still what they mean to achieve for the club?

Thanks and more power.

Regards,

John S. Suarez

Hello Pandit!

[PANDIT ZAMORA] There are issues  I would rather discuss in exclusivity to members of FFPI.

[JOHN S.  SUAREZ] I was given the impression that this group is for FFPI members, and basically other people with the intention of joining our club, and so every issue being discussed here in the open will be for our benefit as a group and individually as members. I am sure that I will again be asked about the elections by other members, and since I am not privy to the information, I will just tell them to contact anyone of the officers which I now think will be the official “norm.”

[PANDIT ZAMORA] You will be informed of the time, date and place. Due notice will be sent for the convenience of members' schedule.

[JOHN S.  SUAREZ] I suppose that this is as regards the schedule of elections.  I am glad that this will be the case, although I think it is the only prudent way for the officers of the club to do so anyways.

As for the election-related issues that need to be discussed in exclusivity with the members of FFPI, again, I would imagine this to be done before we “will be informed of the time, date and place” of the election, as I personally want to hear what these election-related issues are.  Before I was asked by other members why elections are being “delayed” and “put on hold”, I had the impression that this was so because of reasons that were properly conveyed to the club members.  But as an afterthought, since becoming a member in December of 2003, I was never informed that there had to be an election the following January, and only knew of such when the other members I have gotten close to, asked me, since, as they said “we were close to the officers.”

[PANDIT ZAMORA] For those interested to be members contact any of the Board of Directors nearest you or this website.

Sincerely,

Pandit A. Zamora

FFPI President

[JOHN S.  SUAREZ] Noted.  I gather that from this point on, membership information will be the sole responsibility of club officers and not mere members, which I thought to be the case.  We were once asked by the club officers to help insofar as invitation for membership and information dissemination are concerned.  I guess this is now not the case.  Thank you.

I have always taken this club to have been created with the well-being of all cats at the fore, followed closely by the education and learning of feline breeders, enthusiasts, and pet owners, and not as a mere cat show organizer and registry of cats.  I have also thought that transparency in the group is of prime importance.

As such, I would like to formally and respectfully request that I be provided with the club’s charter, or Articles of Incorporation and By-laws so that I may determine if what I have as goals and motivations as a feline breeder, enthusiast, and petowner is in line with that of this club.

Thank you and good luck.

Very truly yours,

John S. Suarez

Every which way you look at it, the concerns we posted in felinefanciersphils Yahoo! groups clearly indicate a valid concern, and do not merit a banning from the group.  This is at the very least, a form of non-adherence to transparency, and at most, a clear instance of CENSORSHIP.

Thank you and we shall appreciate your prompt reply on the matter.
